Week One:   Aug 2  - Aug 6 (Mon-Fri)


9:00am - 4:30pm



During the morning, dancers will take dance class, explore dance forms such as jazz, enjoy crafts related to dance and expand their knowledge of dance through stories, videos, improvisation and dance history.  In the afternoon dancers will create an original Ballet and Theater production.  Dancers will be involved in choreography, costuming, set design and production culminating in a performance.  Performance possibilities include "The Firebird", "Cinderella", "Hansel & Gretel", etc.



Fee:   Week One:      $300        (4 days)        

            Week Two:     $375        (5 days)

“Ballet with Shakespeare”

Dance & Acting Workshop


        Week One:  Aug 9 - Aug 13

9:00am - 4:00pm


Week Two: Aug 16 - 20

                 9:30am - 4:30pm (9am early arrival)


            

        Guest Artist, Vanessa Morosco


Dancers will participate in daily technique classes.  Afternoon classes will focus on variations class and theatrical portrayals of ballet.  Dancers will have theater classes under the guidance of  professional actress/guest teacher, Vanessa Morosco.  Dancers will learn tools used by an actor for character interpretation  and storytelling and learn  to develop and personalize exciting choreography and infuse it with new life through acting skills.  Students will perform in a final presentation at the end of the session.

VANESSA MOROSCO is an accomplished professional Equity actress, appearing in over 25 classical productions.  She has toured the country for the American Shakespeare Center and has performed leading roles at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Judith Shakespeare Company, Pittsburgh Irish Classical Theatre, Yale Rep and the Blackfriar’s Playhouse.  She has trained with the British-American Drama Academy (BADA) and the SITI Company.  Miss Morosco has taught and directed Shakespeare and Acting at high schools, colleges, and universities across the nation.  She designs youth programs for the American Shakespeare Center and runs Camp Shakespeare for the Hamptons Shakespeare Festival.
